Dilu, a 52-year-old from Lamjung district, has endured a lifetime of ear pain and discomfort that began in her early childhood. Her story is one of resilience and hope, as she recently underwent a transformative surgery at Green Pastures Hospital (GPH) Ear Centre, finally bringing an end to her decades-long struggle.
Dilu’s memories are filled with painful episodes of ear discharge and relentless discomfort. As a child, she found temporary relief at local health posts with her father’s help, but her symptoms always returned. Years later, a neighbor shared news of GPH’s specialized Ear Centre, known for its high-quality ear care and life-changing surgeries, especially for those in financial need. This gave Dilu hope that she might find a permanent solution.
After a thorough evaluation at GPH, doctors recommended surgery on her left ear to address her chronic pain and infections. Dilu’s journey, however, was complicated by her family’s financial difficulties, having already exhausted savings and taken on debt to fund her husband’s treatment for a blood infection and tuberculosis.
In this time of hardship, GPH Ear Centre stepped in, providing essential financial support. With assistance covering NPR 41,775 (around AUD 474) for surgery and medications, Dilu’s financial burden was lifted, allowing her to focus on healing and recovery. Today, Dilu’s story stands as a testament to the life-changing impact of accessible healthcare and charitable support. Thanks to GPH Ear Centre, she faces a brighter, pain-free future.
