We are deeply saddened by the devastating flash floods of 26 August 2026 (Bhadra 10, 2083), which have affected communities in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and adjoining areas along the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli river corridors. At this difficult time of national concern, INF Nepal stands in solidarity with the affected communities and with the nation. We are particularly concerned about persons with disabilities, marginalised groups and vulnerable households who may face disproportionate challenges in the aftermath of the disaster.

INF Nepal is mobilising support in line with established humanitarian response standards, with an initial focus on coordination, rapid assessment, immediate lifesaving assistance and appropriate relief support. As the situation evolves, our response may extend to early recovery priorities such as food security, health, shelter, WASH, protection, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, climate resilience and reconstruction support, based on identified needs and our available capacity. At this stage, our priority is immediate humanitarian relief through a coordinated, responsive and accountable approach, ensuring that assistance reaches those most in need in a timely manner while upholding the dignity and rights of affected people.

The commitment, compassion and technical expertise of our colleagues have always been central to INF Nepal’s mission. I, therefore, request all team members to remain alert, flexible and available should the Central Emergency Response Team require additional support in the days ahead. Depending on the evolving situation, some colleagues may be called upon to contribute their time, skills or expertise to the response. I trust that, as one INF family, we will stand together and serve affected and vulnerable communities with humility, professionalism and love.

In partnership with Asal Chhimeki Nepal, our initial relief operation, including food supplies, winterisation kits and hygiene packages, is scheduled to be dispatched to Nuwakot on 29 August 2026, providing urgent humanitarian assistance to approximately 1,500 individuals. We will continue to assess needs and strengthen our support in the coming days.

At the same time, I encourage everyone to continue our regular work and to care for our beneficiaries and patients with the same dedication and responsibility. Our ongoing services remain important, particularly for people who may themselves be vulnerable during this difficult period. Let us keep our spirits strong, support one another, and remain united in our shared calling to serve. Together, may we continue INF Nepal’s legacy of serving with love and working together for life in all its fullness. Thank you!
